Worker's Comp?

Jessie is a 3 1/2 year old working Border Collie. And due to her line of work, she has a knack for getting into trouble. She broke her foot when she was younger. Last year she was hit by a cow, and that was her first emergency visit to Alameda East Veterinary Hospital. Lucky for her, her owner is Joe Keener. And he is Dr. Bobbi Hafer's brother.
As with many Border Collies, Jessie has an obsession. Obsessions can be a bad thing, when it's chewing on your shoes. But an obsession to herd cattle, sheep or anything else that moves is an asset on a Nebraska ranch. Dr. Hafer's brother called on June 6th with one of his famous lines "Jessie got hurt today" followed by the "I'm coming to Denver". You see a four hour drive isn't too far when you need some top notch veterinary care.
Jessie was working some cattle when she was injured by a young cow. And in the process she broke her front leg, both the radius and ulna bones. After being treated by her local veterinarian, she made her way to Alameda East Veterinary Hospital. Two days later she was out of surgery and on her way to recovery. The surgery went great!
Fracture repairs are a common surgery for the surgeons at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital. The commitment to the repair doesn't stop in the operating room however. E-collars, daily bandage changes and restricted activity are vital to a successful repair. Jessie wore her e-collar for about 3 months at which time the last pins and brackets were removed.
