Dan Steinheimer, DVM, MS, DACVR
Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Radiology

Dr. Dan Steinheimer is a native of Reno, Nevada. After careers as a mechanic and ranch foreman he returned to university and ultimately graduated from the University of Missouri in 1990.

Dr. Steinheimer spent two years in private practice in St. Louis before beginning his residency at Colorado State University. While at CSU Dr. Steinheimer studied all aspects of diagnostic imaging with a special interest in orthopedic disease. Upon completion of his residency Dr. Steinheimer joined the faculty of Texas A&M University as an assistant professor. After 3 years in the Deep South the call of the mountains and the need to see snow became too strong and in 1998 Dr. Steinheimer joined the staff of Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver. In 1999 he became the director of the internship program at Alameda East.

When Alameda East Veterinary Hospital joined the VCA family Dr. Steinheimer was asked to become Medical Director, a challenge he accepted and a role he continues in today. He enjoys all aspects of diagnostic imaging and still maintains his love of teaching and mentoring students and young doctors.

When not at work Dan enjoys an active life with his wife and best friend Jackie, their 2 children Noah and Megan, 4 dogs, 7 cats (yes 7, lots of strays from 2009 never left). Hobbies include gardening and working in the shop.
