Kandace Henry, DVM

Kandace grew up in Lakewood where she decided early on she would be either a veterinarian or a concert pianist. She was waylaid for four years at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, lured in by a truly inspired recruiting brochure that made military education seem like summer camp. After earning her BSc in Engineering Sciences, she managed Top Secret networks in Germany (seriously!) then served as an interpreter in Provence before leaving active duty for civilian life. Kandace earned her DVM in May 2008 and has never regretted taking the scenic route. Her professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and anatomic pathology.

Kandace counts climbing Kilimanjaro and becoming a vet as two of the great accomplishments in her life. In an ideal world, she would trot across the globe, saving endangered species and revolutionizing wildlife conservation—stopping occasionally to play a Mussorgsky sonata at the Bolshoi. For now, she is ecstatic to be back in Denver with her neurotic tri-pod dog (Biko), oddly affectionate cats (Suki & Bang) and her near-perfect man.
