Lauren Ball, DVM
Dr. Lauren Ball was born in Cincinnati, OH and raised in Orlando, FL. Since she was 5 years old, Lauren has known she wanted to be a veterinarian, often bringing home lost and injured animals from the neighborhood. Growing up, Lauren furthered her interest in veterinary medicine by competing in eventing, an equestrian event that comprises dressage, cross-country, and show jumping and by working as a veterinary technician at an animal hospital near her home. She attended the University of Notre Dame where she earned a BS in Preprofessional Studies in 2005 and went on to graduate from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. During vet school Lauren spent time working with a variety of student groups, including the Student Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. Of particular interest, was participation in the P.A.W.S. program (Pets Are Wonderful Support), which sought to provide free veterinary care to the pets of individuals suffering from disabling illnesses. Professionally, Lauren’s interests include surgical oncology, medical oncology, and internal medicine. Following her internship at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital, she would like to pursue a residency in small animal surgery and a surgical oncology fellowship. In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her four dogs and cat, riding and training her horse, running, and traveling.
